FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is MapleKids?
mapleKids is a personalized Story Studio that creates custom storybooks designed around your child. Each story is written using your child’s real experiences, emotions, and challenges to help them learn, grow, and feel understood — all through storytelling.
How is a MapleKids story different from other personalized books?

Their real-life emotional or developmental challenge

Your family’s values and culture

This makes the story feel deeply personal and emotionally meaningful — not generic.
What information do I need to provide?

To create the best possible story, we ask for:

Your child’s name, age, and pronouns

Their personality and favorite things

One main challenge they’re experiencing

The emotions behind that challenge

What you hope your child will learn or feel

Optional information (but very helpful):

Family members’ names

Cultural or language preferences

Photos of your child or family
Do I have to upload photos?
No. Uploading photos is completely optional.

If you choose to upload photos, the story may feel even more familiar to your child.
If you prefer not to, we will still create a fully personalized story using illustrations and descriptive storytelling.
What age range are MapleKids stories for?
MapleKids stories are typically designed for children ages 2–10.
Language, story length, and emotional concepts are always adjusted to be age-appropriate.

What kinds of challenges can MapleKids help with?
Our stories often support children with:

Bedtime fears or sleep anxiety

Starting daycare or school

Separation anxiety

Big emotions (anger, frustration, worry)

Sibling rivalry or jealousy

Confidence and self-esteem

Social skills and friendships

If you’re unsure whether your child’s situation fits, you’re always welcome to ask.

Are MapleKids stories therapeutic?

MapleKids stories are emotionally supportive, but they are not a replacement for professional therapy.

They are designed to:

Help children name and understand their feelings

Model healthy coping strategies

Create a sense of safety and emotional connection

Many parents use MapleKids as a gentle emotional learning tool alongside everyday parenting.
Can I include cultural or religious values?
Yes — and we encourage it.

You can share:

Cultural background

Language preferences

Traditions or values important to your family

We write every story with respect, inclusivity, and sensitivity.
How long does it take to receive my story?
Once you submit your information, your personalized story is usually ready within the timeframe shared on the product page.

You’ll receive your finished story digitally, ready to read together.
Can I request changes after receiving the story?

We want you to feel good about your story.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, you can reach out and we’ll let you know what adjustments are possible based on your request.
How should I read the story with my child?
We recommend:

Reading the story together in a calm, connected moment

Repeating the story over multiple days or weeks

Letting your child lead conversations or ask questions

Repetition helps children process emotions and build confidence.
Is my child’s information safe?
Yes. Your privacy matters to us.

All personal information and photos are handled with care and used only to create your child’s story. We never share your data.
Is MapleKids right for my child?
if your child:

Is experiencing big feelings

Is facing a new or challenging situation

Loves stories and connection
